Revue Will the Circle Be Unbroken / The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band:Le très californien Nitty Gritty Dirt Band s'était déjà rendu à deux reprises à Nashville (en 1972 et en 1989) pour revisiter en compagnie de figures légendaires du genre les traditions hillbilly et honky tonk. Ce troisième hommage, qui porte à nouveau le nom de Will The Circle Be Unbroken (une chanson de la Carter Family), est du calibre des deux précédents. Marquées au double sceau de la bonne humeur et de la complicité artistique, ces sessions d'enregistrement ont donné lieu à de superbes rencontres, comme celle entre June Carter Cash et Earl Scruggs ("Diamonds in the Rough") et celle entre Willie Nelson et Tom Petty ("Goodnight Irene") et à des moments particulièrement privilégiés pour ceux qui sont séduits par la voix d'Emmylou Harris ou d'Alison Kraus ou par la virtuosité guitaristique de Doc Watson. Voilà un double CD qui révèle la face de l'Amérique que l'on aime ! -Philippe Margotin.
