Revue Haendel - Airs d'oratorios / David Daniels:En quelques années à peine, David Daniels est devenu une véritable star du chant baroque. Au disque comme au concert, il remporte toujours un vif succès, auprès du public et de la critique. C'est que ce chanteur américain a la chance d'avoir reçu de Dame Nature une voix de contre-ténor quasi parfaite. Il en fait bon usage, sans se lover dans la facilité. À cela, il faut ajouter un sens de la musicalité et du théâtre tout à fait étonnants : autant de qualités qui font des miracles dans ce disque d'airs d'oratorios de Haendel, son compositeur favori. Au final, un étonnant panorama des beautés de ce répertoire, auquel David Daniels laisse une empreinte indélébile. -Pierre Guillaume.
